Swifts concluded their Southern League division B campaign, when they hosted La Siesta Golds. A closely fought 8-4 victory, cemented 3rd place, courtesy of these 3 winning sets of trip – I Everett, V Slater, P Bradbury 19-15. K Gordon, D Collings, A Reid 22-13. S Johnston, B & L Miller 18-15. Alas, Swans dreams of division B championship were shattered, as news filtered through that they’d been pipped at the post by 5 points.
An end of season function featuring Swallows, Swifts, Pearls & Rubies, was held at The Club. There was lots to celebrate, especially with both Swallows & Rubies having won their respective divisions. Tributes were paid to Mike & Norma Lamberton, who after 20 years membership at Quesada bowls club, are relocating to Broadstairs, Kent. All at QBC send them best wishes for the future.
