A new week with new challenges,  first up Greenlands Maples hosted a very strong Emerald Isle Titans team and after a very competitive game The Maples ran out winners 8 points to 4. and 109 shots to 74,  Greenlands highest winning rink was , Sue Bosworth,Lisa Bonsor and Dave Morrisson well done Green machine.

 

The Chestnuts entertained  Quasada ,,the result of which included a Hotshot for our team of Steve Watson, Margaret Dewar & David Rae. there was some great shots in the first half of the game but some fell away in the 2nd half but we managed a draw of 6 points 6..The shots were 90 to greenland and 84 to Quasada..Well done everybody

.

The Beech travelled to St Louis to play a very strong Trekkers team and went down 2 points to 10 and 64 shots to 105 with our winning rink Barbera Farrington, Rosina Charters-yrne and Roger Farrington , They fought to the end but on the day it just proved to much. Onwards and upwards next week.

 

Tuesday saw the Cedars playing their re-arranged game from Friday, hosting Country bowls. Winning on two rinks with the  highest winning rink being Sally Cordell,Jack Linehan and Bert Ewart 20-11. well done. Scores were 4 points – 8 and 80 shots against 105.This was a good result against a very strong Country Bowls side.

 

Wednesday saw the Gladiators visit Javea in the winter league, after a hard fought game the Gladiators managed to win on all rinks and also took the aggregate.A fantastic result away from home.. 8 points to 00 and 53 shots to 42. Highest winning rink was Sue Bosworth,Mark Jukes, Derek Toozer and Pete Bonsor.well done  Green machine.

 

The Warriors also played up north against BBC, they came up with a creditable result away to Benietchell today Greenland Warriors  2points to 6.  Would like to mention one rink who played with 3 players owing to illness  they lost 25percent of their score but still managed a win. Margaret Stephens , Linda Hier,   Steve Penfold. 15.25 shots to 11, very well done   Great games played in wonderful  spirit   by the rest of the squad followed  by a very nice Chinese Meal

.

Friday The Oaks welcomed Vistabella and in a close fought game ran out winners Nine   points to Three and 69 shots to 60.  Highest winning rinks C.Stobbart, K.Sobbart D.Morrison  and D.Toozer,M.Jukes and P.Bonsor both winning by 5 shots. Well done Green machine.

 

The Cedars travelled to play a very strong  E.I team and altho they put up a strong fight they lost  3 points to 9 and 71 shots to 94 a great effort away from home. Well done everybody.

 

Next up was the Elms Who unfortunately were only able to field 4 rinks due to one player failing to show the game ended at 14 ends due to heavy rain. The Elms losing 2 points to 8 and 41 shots to 75, a valiant effort by a team playing 1 rink short. well played everyone.

Also we have  Rogers  roll up every Saturday morning 9.30 for 10.00, entry fee 1 euro FANTASTIC PRIZES ( honest)., non members are welcome and  pay a green fee 0f 6 euros. This is a great

social event each week, food and drink available after. Just turn up before 9.45.

There is also an adventure golf course available for the Husband or wife and children whilst the partner,s are playing bowls just book at the bar.
