After all the recent rain, we might hope that the reservoirs are better stocked with water now and we can return to “sunny Spain” weather, especially as we start the Summer League matches from Monday 14th – but who knows, maybe the shorts will have to wait a little bit longer.
Monday 7th South Alicante League: Enterprise Div. A the Klingons were scheduled to play at home v Greenland Sycamores; but because of the adverse weather conditions the match didn’t happen & we were able to share the points 5-5 rather than re-arrange. Div B Trekkers, were also due to play at home; against La Marina Pathfinders, re-arranged for Friday 18th.
Southern League Div A. Lions (Re-arranged from 4th) match Thursday 10th at home in very different conditions! v Country Bowls Geckos. We had some close battles for points 6-4, 63 shots-57. Winners: Jane & Stewart Hamill, Neil Morrison 18-15, Giuseppe Galelli, June & Keith Jones 24-9.
Friday 11th home v Vistabella Lanzadores was, in spite of some of the scores, a close fought match going down to the last couple of ends & with some very tight heads so a move of the jack by a few inches turned the score around. Winning 2-2, but unfortunately just losing the shots 67-73 giving us 4points-6. Winners: Margaret Morrison, Stewart Hamill, Neil Morrison 26-19, Giuseppe Galelli, June & Keith Jones 21-14.
Div B. Tigers also had to play 2 matches this week after last Friday’s washout. Unfortunately I do not have any team information this time, just the basics: Tigers away v La Siesta Golds, won 6points-4, 75shots-63. Friday 11th Tigers away v Quesada Swans had a bad day at the office taking 2points-8, 56 shots- 94.
