Division (A) The Blues welcomed our neighbours San Luis Lions for an afternoon game, winning two rinks apiece and due to the score by Ann & Robert Heath with Harold Charleton (32-8) we also gained two points for the overall (Shots 80-67). Other winning team being; Dawn, Ann & Jim Taylor (21-15). Result 6-4.
Division (B) The Golds hosts were the Emerald Isle Outlaws for an afternoon game, winning on three rinks courtesy of; Pat Moore, Bill & Sue Jordan (27-8). Irene Laverick, Wendy & Alan Ralph (27-18). Tony & Val Dalton with Alan Mawer (16-13) and losing out by only one shot on the remaining rink. Won 8-2 (Shots 80-55).
Enterprise The Apollos at home played San Miguel Beagles, another result where both teams shared the points by winning two rinks each, this time the visitors taking two points for the overall (Shots 61-86). Rink winners were; Ann & Robert Heath with Harold Charleton (21-14). Ann & Jim Taylor with Les Bedford (18-16). John Taylor replaced a player on the 11th end due to illness. Lost 4-6.
Discovery The Pioneers travelled to La Marina for their game against the Pathfinders, but were unable to get their heads in front on any of the rinks so had to return home without any points. (Shots 56-85). Due to an injury, Wendy Ralph replaced that player on the 5th end.
Voyager For the Sputniks afternoon game they were hosted by El Rancho Raiders which saw Jim Gwynn, Tracey Paffett & Ken Barber rink win well (23-9) and Trever Witcher, Steve Gray & Brian Elkington winning by (18-16) with another rink being unlucky losing by one shot only but did manage to collect a further two points for the overall (Shots 76-69) winning 6-4.
Winter League La Siesta travelled to Greenland’s to play the league leaders knowing the opponents will not want to settle for anything less than the full points. The home team took commanding leads early on two rinks with a bit of a battle going on with the others, the game ended winning on one rink by; Wendy Ralph, Irene Laverick, Noel Morrisroe & Mike Inns (18-16) with Greenland’s taking three for a result of 2-8 (Shots 50-85).
