On Monday in the Discovery Division we were at home to Emerald Isle Neptunes who are second top of the division.  The Falcons needed the points and didn’t achieve them.  The Neptunes just proved their place in the table and beat us quite convincingly.  We did, however, have one winning rink and our thanks goes to:

Tracey Paffett, Ken Barber and Roy Thomson 16 -12.

The final result being 62 shots for to 91 against giving us 2 well needed points to 10 against.  Well played to our winning rink.

The Falcons have one match left to play against Emerald Isle Moonrakers who are middle of the table.  This last match is at home and we have the advantage.  There is only 4 points between us and the team above us so it is now down to the wire.  Come on Team Falcons, let’s go for it.  It is in our hands.

On Friday we played at home the last match of the winter Southern League against Mazarron Miners who have topped the table.  Congratulations to them.  The warm sunny weather just added to the ambiance of the day.

The Royals had to go for it and gain points to move up the table.  We did that in style.  We won four rinks out of five and drew on the other.  Big congrats to the Royals Team for showing what we are made of against the best.

Our winning rinks were:

Carol Linehan, Wayne Jackson and Sheila Westwood 20 – 17

Irene Graham, Alan Miller and Terry Hucknall 26 -13

Mark Jukes, Jack Linehan and Barry Evans 21 -13

Tracey Paffett, Dave Bracken and Roy Thomson 23 -15

Our drawing team: John Goddard, Mick Kirby and Bryan Eatough 12 – 12

The morning was polished off by the opposition celebrating their top of the table victory with bottles of Cava which was much appreciated by the Royals as we were celebrating our win against them.  Once again Congratulations to Mazarron Miners in their victory.  A more than pleasant morning was had by all.

A huge, massive thanks goes to our Royals Captain Jack Linehan and his Vice Captain Alan Miller for their thankless efforts in keeping Horadada Bowls Club in the division they deserve to be in.
