I was anticipating being able to report some good news about this week’s matches, as we get down to the last few, at the end of the winter season BUT as we know, things don’t always go to plan!
Monday 28th Feb South Alicante League: Enterprise Div. A the Klingons were away v San Miguel Alsations, but unfortunately it was a tough match of two halves: 2games-2 but losing the shots 47-75, meant 4 points-6. Winners: Margaret Morrison, Pam Lockett, Neil Morrison 16-12, Pat Reilly, Tricia Reilly, Vic Mahomet 17-13.
The Div B Trekkers, were home to La Marina Explorers, but they didn’t have the best of times; with points 2-8, and shots 55-89. Well done to our winning team: Pauline Johnson, Stuart Wilson, Steve Penfold 25-15.
Unfortunately on Wednesday 2nd March our Winter League team should have been playing at El Cid. Sadly, because of the positive Covid cases in the north at Calpe BC, Javea Green BC & BBC (though not at El Cid) it was decided for everyone’s health & safety that we should concede this match as neither of us were in contention for the top spot. A frustrating but sensible solution.
Finally the weather intervened on Friday 4th for the Southern League Div A. Lions & Div B. Tigers with the matches having to be postponed due to torrential rain! Let’s hope that next week the weather allows us to replay the outstanding matches.
In the meantime we are gearing up for the Summer Leagues which start w/b 14th March, & most importantly team availability sheets are on the noticeboard waiting to be filled.
