South Alicante League, Monday 17th October, Enterprise Div. Klingons were away v Emerald Isle Titans. We had a real battle, and Keith’s team just missed out by 1 shot, but unfortunately we could only “kling-on” to 2points-10, shots 80-95. Well done to our winning team: Ian Kenyon, Jane Hamill, Stewart Hamill 20-6.
Meanwhile in Voyager Div the Trekkers, home v Emerald Isle Moonrakers, had a much better result, winning 8 points-4, 97 shots-72. Well done to: Dave Notely, Bill Webb, Keith Phillips 24-15, Chris Jackson, Ngaio & Peter Baldwin 20-8, Tricia Reilly, Derrick Cooper, Pat Reilly 27-12.
On Thursday 20th we played the first round of the PREMIER 20 KNOCKOUT COMPETITION, home & away v Vistabella. We always expect a close match against VB, especially with this mixed format; which is why it’s so challenging & frustrating. All the matches were hard fought and even the losing teams kept going, to try and keep the shot difference close and that certainly worked!.
However we weren’t expecting a result as close as this!!
Home match 72 shots SL 71 shots VB 4 points each.
Away match 65 shots SL 66 shots VB 4 points each.
Total 137 shots SL 137 shots VB 8 points each.
Under the Rules; if everything is tied, it goes down to the result of the singles & we won BOTH Singles so we go through to the next round v San Miguel.

Friday 21st Southern League and a better result for the Lions, home v Greenlands Oaks; 6points-6, 85 shots-94. Winners: Helen Hammond, Sandra Burrows, Scott Malden 13-12, Bill Webb, Tricia & Pat Reilly 21-19, June Jones, Caroline Smyth, Neil Morrison 20-15. The Tigers were away v Vistabella Conquistadors in a real nip & tuck match, fighting to the end for a good result; 8points-4, 96 shots-69.
