Amazingly, despite an ongoing rain storm, Pearls managed to play their South Alicante league match at Greenlands, which resulted in a 6-4 victory to the visitors, courtesy of these 2 rinks – G Phillips, M France, Jason P 21-8. G Carnell, V Campbell, F Roberts 21-8.  These 6 points ensured that Pearls finished the season in 2nd place.

Both Diamonds and Rubies matches fell victim to the weather.

Swifts were busy little birds, for they had both a rearranged, and an end of season southern league match, in the same week.  First off, these 2 rinks secured 4 points against Country Bowls Cubs – S Johnston, B & L Miller 23-9. I Everett, V Slater, P Bradbury 22-18.  Then, 3 days later, they beat Country Bowls Panthers 9-1, thanks to these blue shirted bowlers – T Brinton, A Johnston, J Brinton 18-13. I Everett, V Slater, P Bradbury 16-14. P Turner, S Jakeman, A Reid 22-14. S Johnston, B & L Miller 15-15.

Swans recorded a fine 8-2 victory over San Luis Tigers, in which these 3 trips scored the points – A Barnes, B Elliott, K Bowles 35-9. S & D Barnes, T Voisey 34-6. T Cunningham, P & B Rees 15-14.

Swallows lost heavily at La Siesta, but they were able to drown their sorrows at the end of season bash, which was held at Alingui restaurant.
