Another warm week to get through, and the heat goes on…
LLB South Alicante Spitfire Div. A: Wellingtons had a bad day at the office, on Monday 23rd away v Emerald Isle Vulcans; 2 points-10, 73 shots-100. Winners: Helen Hammond, Bill Webb, Scott Malden 26-16. Hurricane Div B: Hercules, had an even worse day, with not enough available players (through unexpected circumstances) we had to drop 2pts & 10 shots before the match started and our team was away at Country Bowls against a strong Red Kites team so not quite the result we hoped for, 0 points-12, 53 shots-97.
VCL Southern Div A: Falcons, on Wednesday 25th were away v San Miguel Sheriffs. The shots were very close; 82-87, 4 points-8. Winning teams; Pairs, June & Keith Jones, 25-19, & Triples, Tricia & Pat Reilly, Scott Malden 17-12.
Div B: Hawks, on 25th were home v top of the league Greenlands Jasmin. There were some very closely fought games, but just finishing with shots 84-87, 4 points-8. Well done to winners: Ladies singles, Jane Hamill 21-15, Rinks Pauline Johnson, John Bagnall, Stuart Wilson, Steve Penfold 21-10.
With only a few more matches left, we haven’t got a lot of time to gain many more points but, as usual we will keep fighting to the end!!
San Luis BC welcomes new members of ALL playing abilities, we hope they would be willing to sign up before the end of August, so we can plan how many teams to enter for 2022/23 season. Currently we have 2 teams (1 in A Div. & 1 in B Div.) in both Friday Southern & Monday South Alicante Leagues. More new members would allow us to add a third team; so room for all.
