Division (A) The Blues played their rearranged game on Wednesday at Greenland’s the opponents being the Oaks. La Siesta team knew that they required as many points as possible to remain in this Division, but lady luck was not on their side by taking defeats on three rinks with the remaining one winning well to secure 2 points, the team being; Norman Adcroft, Martin Harley & Karen Kirk (24-14) who throughout this season have bonded well to win a far percentage of games. Result 2-8 (Shots 63-78). Important game on Friday being the last game of the season, good luck Blues.
Division (B) The Golds rearranged home game was also on Wednesday playing San Luis Tigers which saw both teams winning two rinks apiece with the Golds missing out on the overall (Shots 63-75) losing 4-6. Winning teams being; Irene Laverick, Wendy & Alan Ralph (20-11). Pat Moore, Bill & Sue Jordan (20-16).
Division (C) The Silvers played their rearranged home game on Tuesday against Vistabella Conquistadors who won on three rinks for six points but were unable to collect a further two for the overall shots, due to our rink winners; Anthony Pridmore, June & David Whitworth gaining a very comfortable victory (35-6) to secure two points, and a further two points for the overall (Shots 78-71).
La Siesta Club Championship finals are being played over the weekend, I wish the finalists all the best in their games and thanks to all the members who participated in these games. (Thanks Jim (T) for knocking me out in the men’s semis!!! Good Luck).
Next week the summer and VCL leagues commence, with plenty of other internal games taking place on other days of the week which include Chicken and egg every Wednesday at 2pm & Organised roll up every Saturday 9.30 for 10am.
