The Apollos had a good game at Emerald Isle Titans getting six well earned points.Sheila Chorley with Sue Jordan and John Ball won 11 ends to win 18-12. Dave Davies with Norman Adcroft and George Richardson also won 11 ends to win 19-16.Dawn & John Taylor with Bill Jordan were down 14-7 on the 11th end. It was 15-15 on the 17th and John managed to draw the shot with his last wood to win 16-15. This win increases the chance of remaining in the 1st Division.

The Pioneers, safely in mid table, entertained San Luis Romulans and won by 8 shots getting 10 points to their opponents 4.Best winning rinks for La Siesta came from Dot Kocsis with Ken Stringfellow and Fay Beattie and equally a win for Hilary Clarke, Joe Kocsis and Pat Reilly .

In the The Fed 4’s the Parakeets lost at home to San Luis Condors the winning rink coming from Tony Campbell, Jim Hudson, Irene Mangan and Alex Morrice The Hoopoes had a similar result away at San Luis the wnning rink coming from Dot Kocsis, Jim Eastwood, Vic Mahomet and Dave Blackie.

The Winter League played had a good result at Bonalba thanks to 3 great games. Doug & Fay Beattie with Tony Campbell and Dave Blackie came back from 6 – 4 down on the 6th end to win 10 of the next 12 ends and finish winners 23 – 7.Derek Smith with Joy and Brian Gardiner and Jean Cooper were 5 all on the 6th end and won the game 24 – 14.

Pat & Trish Reilly with Irene Mangan and Jenny Bowman had a nip and tuck game being down 10 -13 on the 17th end and on the final end Irene managed to pick up the jack to our waiting woods, to hold 3 shots and Jenny drew her last wood in to gain 4 shots and gain a 14 – 13 to win. With overall shots scored equal La Siesta came out with a 7 points to 5 win.

The Golds entertained league leaders Country Bowls knowing that a good win would take them to top spot above the leaders. This was managed with a 10-4 win leaving the final games next week for the title to be decided. So it is all to play for, so lets hope for a good result.
