Hurricane Div B Hercules home v Q Lancasters 4pts-8, 73pts-81, winners: John Dowell, Cas Blay, Brenda Brown 18-16, Dave Notely, Jane & Stewart Hamill 24-12.
Thursday 7th April, Hercules home v CB Red Kites, a tough battle 2pts-10, 73shots-101, winners: Pauline Johnson, Stuart Wilson, Steve Penfold 17-13.
VCL Southern Div A Falcons, home v VB Saxons re-arranged from 23rd March to Tuesday 19th April.
VCL Southern Div B Friday 1st April, re-arranged from 23rd March, Hawks were away v La Marina. Well done to Dee Hoey (ladies singles) for taking a valuable 2pts-12, 72shots-102.
Fortunately San Luis Open Mixed Triples Tournament was completed, as Keith reported: “On Friday and Saturday 8th and 9th of April the tournament was held with teams from Bonalba, San Miguel, Quesada, Emerald Isle, Greenlands & San Luis. 18 teams split into 3 groups of 6 enjoyed warm spring weather over the 2 days.
The best 2 winners from the 3 groups competed in the final. The team from San Miguel of Noel Davis, Gail & Fred Willshire played the team from San Luis of Bill Webb, Sheila Cammack and Neil Morrison. The outcome being a win for San Miguel.”
During the past week the Champion of Champions Tournament has been contested at Quesada.
Due to injury some players were unfortunately unable to participate. However Jane Hamill got through to the semi final round of the Ladies singles and Neil Morrison is due to compete in the Men’s singles final on Sunday morning 17th April.
Neil has played so well in the previous rounds so we hope he can complete the task! good luck to all the competitors.
This coming week it will be all focus for a full 4 days of league + catchup matches and a fun celebration on Friday, ahead of St George’s Day on 23rd finishing with a meal at Oasis San Luis”.
