I was hoping to give our in-house competions results, but unfortunately our finals weekend was rained off. This was followed by the Pathfinders game being cancelled on Monday, but the Explorers game against the San Miguel Dalmatians at home was played.
After a 8.30 green inspection, it looked very playable and so it proved to be – not perhaps the result we hoped for losing 8 – 2, and not the fine sunny weather we would rather play in but competitive bowls cannot guarantee ideal conditions. Well done all for completing this fixture.
Friday 11th The Sharks played at home against El Rancho and got a resounding victory of 10-0, a great result that virtually guarantees we stay in the top division. Our top winning rink was Janet Parsons, Margaret MacLaughlin and Mike Stone 27 – 11.
The Seagulls meanwhile were away to San Miguel Boxers and unfortunately lost 8 – 2, our only winning rink being Lesley & Dave Joynes, skipped by Irene Mangan.
We have a extra game this week, when last Friday’s games have both been re-arranged for next Tuesday. Also next week sees the commencement of the Summer League and the VCL, keeping us competitively involved with bowling until June.
