During the time that the league season has stopped for the festive season we kept the club open for rollups and to catch up with the internal championship games. The social secretary Molly arranged a Tenpin bowling afternoon and the winning female & male received a box of chocolates, also the members Christmas dinner and dance took place at Chiefs on Broadway with the normal raffle with loads of prizes.
The Club had a Fun day of bowls on the 26th December and members who attended brought with them snacks for after the game which Sue & Bill Jordan worked hard to prepare prior to the raffle being drawn for the three hampers the winning ticket holders were; 1st – Pauline (Legionaries). 2nd. Bill Jordan. 3rd. Jean Cooper.
Division (C) At home the Silvers had a re-arranged match on Wednesday 5th January against Country Bowls Cubs who could only put 3 teams out, which saw us take two rinks together with the overall (Shots 55-50) making the end result 8-2, rinks won by; Maggie Gray, Graham Doel & Dave Giddings (15-14). Dave Collins, June & David Whitworth (19-18).
Like most of the other Bowling Clubs we have covid protocols in place for bowlers & guests who wish to enter/play at La Siesta Bowls Club and everyone must meet these requirements to enter the premises for the safety of all.
