Popular bowler Harry Rhodes passed away last Thursday whilst in first round action in the Emerald Isle Men’s Singles Competition.

Harry was 10-1 up at the time against John Smith when he suffered a major heart attack in the middle of the green.

His funeral took place in Pilar de la Horadada on Friday evening.

Our sympathies go to Peta, his partner and wife of 17 years and of course his family back in York.

An ‘old school’ yorkshireman Harry had been a member of La Marina, Quesada, Greenlands and the Emerald Isle Clubs where he was active both on and off the green. He will be sadly missed by the entire bowling fraternity.
